America's largest and politically toughest pro-gun group has fired a major volley in this "off year" political cycle with a heavily criticized ad that attempts to divide this country.

The National Rifle Association ad, created by Oklahoma City ad agency Ackerman McQueen, is entitled "The Violence of Lies."

The ad, designed to increase NRA membership, has been criticized as a call to violence by the big-monied gun group. It heavily criticizes America's liberal groups and ends with the tag line claiming the NRA is battling liberals with "the clenched fist of truth."
