Hot Seat For Heller

Nevada U.S. Senator Dean Heller found out the other day there's somewhere hotter than his home state -- sitting next to the president of the United States.

President Donald Trump put Heller on the public hot seat at a White House Republican luncheon, firing away gently over the senator's reluctance to repeal Obamacare for an alternative proposed by U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mtich McConnell, R-Kentucky.

"This was the one we were worried about," Trump said looking down at Heller as the senator cracked a grin and then feighned suprise. "You weren't there," the president continued. "But you're gonna be. You're gonna be. Look, he wants to remain a senator, doesn't he? And I think the people of your state, which I know very well, I think they're gonna appreciate what you hopefully will do. Any senator who votes against starting debate is really telling America that you're fine with Obamacare. But being fine with Obamacare isn't enough for another reason. Because it's gone. It's failed. It's not gonna be around."

Heller, has indeed been under serious fire on the air waves at home -- from all sides. Here's a sample of the ads that have been running. It is interesting to note that the one attacking Heller for his stance was pulled by the pro-repeal ad maker after only a day or two.
