Project Angel: Drumright Success

Lisa Henry, the Kanter Political Commercial Archive's Curator and Head Archivist, was a part of an Oklahoma Archivist Association team that traveled to the Drunright Historical Museum last week to assist local historians in identifying and cataloguing a large portion of the museum's artifacts. Among the museum's collections are nearly a thousand sets of salt and pepper shakers that have belonged to local residents, some of which date to 1939. The OAA members also took photographs of thosuands of pages of school records dating back decades in an effort to preserve them.

The Drumright trip is the first of what is expected to be scores of musuem efforts over the next year by the assocation under it's new Project Angel program. The program is designed to help local museum experts safeguard their collections and to assist them in their efforts to attract more visitors.
